Horoscopes: How Princess Margaret influenced astrology
We’re all desperate for some good luck after the pandemic destroyed our plans for 2020. December will bring a Mercury in Sagittarius, a Sagittarius New Moon, a Cancerian Full Moon, a Venus Saturn Conjunction, and the Sun moving through Sagittarius and Capricorn. What does this mean for us? Express.co.uk reveals the horoscope for December 2020.
December kicks off with Mercury moving into Sagittarius, and it will stay there until December 20.
Mercury is the planet of communication, expression, and exchange of information.
Sagittarius is not the ideal placement for Mercury, since it is the ruling planet of Sagittarius’ opposite sign Gemini.
Mercury in Sagittarius may cause you to be more brutally honest and unafraid to speak your mind.
Perhaps top secret information will be revealed or you may let something slip that you shouldn’t have.
Whatever it is, there will be some drama, disagreements, and fiery arguments!
Try to think before you speak to avoid offending others, hurting the feelings of those closest to you, or ruining surprises.

There’s a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius on December 14.
Eclipses in general reveal truths and help to steer you back onto the right path – you may feel as if everything is very intense during this time.
New Moons are all about reflecting and reviewing, and seeing as this is the last New Moon of the year you should have plenty to mull over.
According to Moon Mentor Kirsty Gallagher’s book, Lunar Living: Working with the Magic of the Moon Cycles, Sagittarian New Moons will bring “healing, understanding and truth”.
You may find yourself looking back with regret and frustration, but you should avoid doing this.
Kirsty wrote: “Like the Sagittarius archer, it’s time to take aim and draw back your bow.
“With its feeling of being alive and adventurous, a Sagittarius New Moon makes anything and everything feel possible.”
Review what you’ve achieved and learnt, and jot down what you intend to do next year – make sure it’s brave and bold!
On December 21, a very rare conjunction is occurring that will impact your career.
Jupiter and Saturn conjunct every 20 years, and they do so in signs of the same element continuously for 200 years.
Since 1802, Jupiter and Saturn have been conjunct in the Earth signs – Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.
On December 21 Jupiter and Saturn will conjunct in the air sign Aquarius for 20 years, and then the other air signs in a cycle for 200 years.
This will spark huge changes in society, and astrologer Julian Venables reckons we’ll see huge developments in science and technology.
On a personal level, the astrologer added: “The effect of Jupiter conjunct Saturn in our lives is like a career guide, it’s a long (20 year) indicator of what you will establish, grow and work towards.
“It’s a bit like climbing a tall ladder, step-by-step you’ll reach up to your ambition, but it takes perseverance and patience, combining the good experiences with the challenges, in order to develop your understanding and responsibility.”
You may get a promotion, change careers, move to another country for work, or something else exciting over the next 20 years – but you’ll start to really feel the impact from January 23 and 30.

The Sun moves into Capricorn on December 22, taking us into a month of Capricorn season.
When the Sun is in this sensible Earth sign, we may all become quite goal-oriented.
It’s time to start putting those Eclipse dreams into action and taking steps to achieve them.
If you wanted to get into fitness, now’s the time to join the gym or download Couch to 5k.
Perhaps you wanted to save money in 2021, so why not calculate how much you need to save a month in 2021?
There is plenty you can do to get organised for the year ahead, and Capricorn season will force you into action.
On December 29, there’s a Full Moon in Cancer.
Cancerians are known for being overly emotional, so don’t be surprised if you’re balling your eyes out just before New Years Eve.
According to Kirsty’s book, this Moon is about letting go of anything standing in the way of what you want to achieve.
She wrote: “If you tune in and truly feel into your gut feelings, your intuition, your wisdom, your heart, the very depths of your being, everything you need to know will become clear under the heartfelt intuitive guidance of this dreamy Full Moon.”
The Capricorn Sun will help you to rationalise the emotions this stirs up for you.
Make a plan of what needs to change and shed that hard shell you use to protect yourself against being judged or feeling vulnerable.
Since Cancer is linked to the home, use this Full Moon to declutter by getting rid of old clothes, paper work, rubbish, and things that you no longer need.
Kirsty recommends using a sage stick to cleanse the negative energies in your home.
