The 1975 have released the track “If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know)” from their forthcoming album, Notes on a Conditional Form.

“I see her online, all the time/I’m trying not to stare down there/While she talks about her tough time,” frontman Matty Healy croons in the chorus of the song, which pivots around an online love, and also features a brief guest appearance by the singer-songwriter, FKA Twigs.

The band has released a string of singles from the album, the latest of which follows “Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America” performed in collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers, with whom they were originally slated to tour North America in the promotion of the album. The tour, however, has been postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

In a recent interview with Annie Mac of BBC Radio 1, the singer revealed that the abrupt break in the pace of his life, which for the past 8 years has constantly switched between album-making and touring, has shaken him up; “It’s just about purpose now, you know?
It’s been like a massive reset,” he said.

Healy is currently self-isolating in the same recording studio in which the band produced their last two albums, along with a couple of executives from the record label, and is “gearing up for probably another record.”

Notes on a Conditional Form is scheduled to be released on May 22, 2020.
