Ashley Banjo is a new dad after his wife gave birth to a baby girl.

The Dancing On Ice judge and his partner Francesca confirmed the happy news today, revealing they’ve named their daughter Rose Adura Banjo

She weighed in at 8lbs 13oz and was born on Thursday.

Ashley shared his first picture of Rose on Instagram and wrote: "Our beautiful daughter came into the world at 6:45pm on 21st February 2019 – weighing a healthy 8lbs 13oz.

"Her name is Rose Adura Banjo. I am in the deepest love ever with my little family.

"️ @francescabanjo I love you and am so proud #nextchapter ."

The birth means Ashley is likely to be missing from Dancing On Ice this weekend.

The Mirror revealed he has permission from ITV bosses to quit rehearsals – and even the live show – if he needs to.

A show source said: “Ashley is very professional and it’s business as normal at the moment. But if Francesca or the hospital calls when he is at the studio, he has permission to leave immediately…

“He is not going to wait around at home for it to happen but, equally, he is not going to miss the birth because of his judging job.”

The pair revealed last year they were expecting their first child following a “tough” journey to conceive.

This week Ashley, 30, wrote on Instagram that he and Fran were “patiently waiting” for their baby to arrive.

The Diversity dancer and his long-term love were seen cosying up in bed, with Francesca clutching her baby bump and planting a kiss on Ashley’s head.

He wrote: “Waking up early every morning – just patiently waiting for the bump to become a baby… Any moment now… #babybanjo.”

If Ashley misses Sunday’s show, ITV execs may bring in former judge Karen Barber, 57, as a stand-in.
