On top of that, it's the cheapest month to go on a spring or summer English holiday, making it twice as good.

Camping specialists Cool Camping have revealed that April is the driest month of the year in England, with less rain compared to any of the summer months.

With 56mm across the whole of April, it gets 10mm less rain than July and 13mm less than August.

So you can forget about April showers as it is actually the driest month in the whole year.

However, it's probably still worth packing your anorak and brolly as British weather is famously unpredictable.

You might not want to venture too far afield as April is only the driest month in England – not in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland which are all drier in May.
