St Lucia sees coral-dappled seas and banana-shaped beaches give way to pointy, jungle-covered mountains and waterfalls. Most of the action takes place on its north-west flank, where Reduit Beach’s many miles of white sand fringe horseshoe-shaped Rodney Bay.
The bulk of seaside resorts here are bland all-inclusives but not SoCo House. Opening this month, the adults-only hotel combines chic European decor with French-Creole architecture.

Hit the beach in Barbados

soaked nightlife options are plentiful.
But don’t neglect the interior’s exuberant gardens and old sugar plantations.
