Ronan Keating has welcomed home his son Jack following the 23 year old’s whirlwind appearance on this year’s Love Island.

The lovelorn singleton entered the Casa Amor villa last week in the hopes of connecting with one of the girls from the main villa who had been tasked with putting their existing relationships to the test.

Despite making some solid friendships during his time in the second villa, Jack was sadly dumped from the villa on Thursday night during a dramatic recoupling which saw new bombshells Josh, Deji and Billy joining Danica Taylor, Indiyah Polack and Tasha Ghouri.

While many fans felt Jack’s journey was cut short too soon, his doting dad was thrilled to finally have him back home.

Sharing his thoughts in an Instagram post, the dad-of-five shared a snap of Jack about to take a dip into the family pool before captioning the image: “Good to have the beast home with his family.”

In total, Jack had only been away from home for six weeks – but in a recent interview with The One Show hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas, Ronan revealed he had been worried for his son while he was on the show.

When asked how he was feeling, the star said: “I’m a mess, I’m an absolute mess.

“I mean Storm [Ronan's wife and Jack's stepmum] is doing better than I am. We all miss him in the house, we really do, little brother Cooper and his little sister Coco and Missy, we all miss him.”

He then continued: “His episode last night, he seemed a little bit quiet, he seemed a little bit nervous, which is understandable I guess. I wish him the best, I hope he does okay."

“He’s got such a big heart and he’s a real softie, so I’m just worried about him in there with those other guys,” he added.

Initially Jack had been placed on the short list for the show for around 6 weeks, but only shared the news with his family around a week before he jetted off out to Spain in order to quarantine prior to entering the villa.

“He’s been in Spain for a couple of weeks in lockdown, and we haven’t been able to talk to him,” he said.

“It’s been silence and then he appeared on the TV last night and it was really scary,” Ronan chuckled as he recalled Jack’s debut on the show.
