A woman's tribute to her husband for being "just a rockin' dude" has gone viral.

Crystal Sauser, 39, had no idea how to write an obituary so she decided to have some fun paying tribute to her husband.

Her partner Eric, 43, passed away in his sleep on February 26 after a battle with cancer.

The dad-of-three, from Nebraska, US, left behind wife of 13 years Crystal who had to plan his funeral and write his obituary.

She told CNN she didn't know how to write an obituary so decided to make it lighthearted for the "greatest man on Earth".

Her tribute read: "We think the cause of death was either leukaemia or more likely being 'dead sexy'.

"Eric, we've always loved you and miss you already."

Crystal even referred to herself as his "smoking hot wife" as she said her husband was "preceded in death by billions".

This included the family dog Harvey who the wife claimed "most of us loved to hate".

She added: "We are confident they are joyfully reconnecting right now."

The mum also described her husband as "Super Dad, aka Easy, just a rockin' dude".

She wrote that his death was "just in time for him to make his spiritual appearance at every Red Sox spring game".

For her husband's funeral, mourners were asked to "jam out to Ozzy Osbourne and raise a cold beer in celebration of Eric's life".

The obituary continued: "In lieu of flowers, please pray that the Huskers have a winning season or send a donation in Eric's name.

"He would appreciate either or both."

She told how her husband would have been embarrassed but loved the attention the obituary received.

Eric had been diagnosed with cancer in 2018 after noticing he was breathless carrying his daughter up to her bedroom.

He underwent two years of treatment only to have the cancer return around a year ago.

Talking about the tribute, Crystal said: "It was a chance to share who he was, so people knew he wasn't just some sick dude."
