The Duchess of Sussex is known for her love of designer brands, expensive accessories and glittering jewels worth thousands of pounds.

And since quitting the royal family and moving to California, it seems Meghan Markle’s love of a glitzy and glamorous wardrobe has only accelerated.

This year, Meghan wore a wardrobe worth £78,993. It is £20,000 more than her 2021 total, which was £58,388.

Meanwhile in 2020, the year she stepped back as life as a senior royal, she donned outfits worth worth £44,188.

The Duchess of Sussex is known for her love of designer brands, expensive accessories and glittering jewels worth thousands of pounds. FEMAIL can reveal how this year, Meghan Markle wore £78,993 of outfits

While a working member of the royal family, the cost of Meghan’s clothes for work engagements was covered by then-Prince Charles through the budget he gave the couple from the Duchy of Cornwall.

But after the couple said they wanted to be financially independent, it is not clear who is picking up the bill for Meghan’s clothes, or whether the Duchess always pays full price for her clothing, or receives discounts from designers.

Here FEMAIL calculates the value of Meghan’s wardrobe, only taking into account the cost of items once and not counting recycled pieces.

One of the Duchess’ most expensive outfits came during her trip to The Hague in April for the Invictus Games

Meanwhile Meghan has showed off her love of designers at a number of lavish events, including a summit about women’s empowerment

Her most expensive outfits came when she attended the opening ceremony for Prince Harry’s Invictus Games in The Hague in April this year.

On that occasion, as she stepped out to a trendy designer body suit with trousers – but it was her glitzy £12,000 Cartier necklace which pushed the cost of her outfit up to a whopping £14,015.

However the value of her 2021 clothing collection is also a drastic reduction on 2019, when her wardrobe was valued at more than £211,693.
