Gloria Sanchez Productions, the prolific film unit from producers Jessica Elbaum and Will Ferrell, has signed a first-look film deal with 20th Century Studios.

The creative team behind “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar,” “Booksmart,” and “Hustlers” will offer the iconic Walt Disney label first right of refusal on projects meant for both theatrical release and streaming debuts.

“We are thrilled to be working with Jessica, Will, and the rest of the team at Gloria Sanchez. They bring an incredible depth of experience making smart, hilarious films and their passion for fresh filmmaking voices aligns perfectly with our vision here at 20th,” said 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell.

Gloria Sanchez, represented by UTA, Mosaic and attorneys Jackoway Austen, was founded in 2014.

“We’re beyond excited to have found a home in 20th Century Studios and to be working with an incredible team who fundamentally believes in what we’re doing at Gloria Sanchez. They share our creative vision and we can’t wait to work together to bring fresh stories to screens big and small. We’re already planning a six month company retreat in the Cayman Islands. Why the Cayman Islands? Don’t worry about it!” said Elbaum and Ferrell.

The production company will next release “The Shrink Next Door” from director Michael Showalter and writer Georgia Pritchett. The Apple TV Plus original will star Ferrell, Paul Rudd and Kathryn Hahn. Adapted from the hit podcast, the series will follow the bizarre relationship between a psychiatrist and his longtime patient and premieres in November.

Gloria Sanchez also counts a multi-year first-look TV deal with Netflix, having produced the Christina Applegate hit “Dead to Me” and the Oscar-nominated Ferrell comedy “Eurovision.”
