‘If you’ve got cricket whites, get your toothpaste on it. There’s bicarbonate in toothpaste that’s why it works.
‘Scrub it in and leave it. Use cold water, never hot water and then rinse it’.
The TV expert then shared supermarket alternatives one could use instead of bicarbonate of soda.
She suggested trying powdered stain remover Vanish, which she remarked was ‘really good’ on tough stains.
Lynsey also recommended fabric whitener Dr Beckmann Glowhite, which she says ‘pings’ all your white clothes to a ‘bright white’.
She said it was the perfect remedy for school shirts splattered with hard-to-clean stains, but was best used in a pure-white washing load.
She said: ‘If you’ve got a child at school and you don’t want to buy new ones because they still fit, that’s what you need’.
Host Dermot jokingly asked if Lynsey if she would recommend the product for white trainers, to which the expert gave him the green light as long as they are ‘plain white’.

Next, the expert moved on to hair shampoo which she says is a great method for ridding shirt collars of sweat stains.
She advised you ‘rub it in’ for optimum results.
For ‘smelly’ and ‘really stained’ socks, she held up a pink school washboard to the camera, before explaining that the ‘good old washboard’ always does the trick for cleaning dirty socks.
Stunned hosts Dermot and Alison watched Lyndsey in awe as she revealed that a drop of washing up liquid was just enough for the task.
She continued: ‘For underarm stains – those horrible underarms – they can get crusty.
‘Use half a lemon, cut it in half. Use bicarbonate and rub them in. Leave it in and it will work.
‘Fake tan. One of my biggest questions at the moment. Use white vinegar – liberally spray it all around or use hydrogen peroxide’.
She went on to reveal her own personal experience with the troublesome stain, saying her daughter regularly left ‘b**’ prints’ on the toilet seat made of the tanning product.
She also suggested a cream cleaner or magic eraser.
The expert ended the segment with a how-to on cleaning sunscreen from your clothes. She suggested white vinegar or stain remover AmourMe for the job.
