Princess Anne and Mark Phillips, the father of Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, married on November 14, 1973.

The only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II was the first of the four royal children to get married, and the ceremony was held on King Charles III’s, her elder brother’s, 25th birthday.

The Princess Royal had 2,000 guests attend her wedding, so she had her fair share of wedding presents, including a special brooch from King Charles.

Steven Stone’s diamond and engagement ring specialists have closely examined the unique brooch she received from her older brother on her special day.

The diamond and ribbon tassel brooch has tiny drop tassels that resemble a rosette pattern.

Princess Anne received the ornamental brooch as a wedding gift, which adds to its sentimental value, despite Anne and Mark divorcing in 1992.

The Princess Royal last wore the brooch in 2017 for the Guildhall Banquet, when the Spanish Royal Family paid a visit.

The sparkling jewel is worth, according to Steven Stone experts, roughly £40,000.

At King Charles III’s Coronation, Zara Tindall surprised everyone when she paired her chic blue dress with her mother’s diamond ribbon and tassel brooch.

This was a heartfelt choice because it honoured both the Princess Royal and her uncle on the most important day of his life.

Maxwell Stone, the creative director of Steven Stone told Express.co.uk: “Princess Anne’s diamond and tassel brooch resembles a rosette motif with delicate drop tassels.

“The silver brooch oozes with sentiment as it was a wedding gift to the Princess Royal from her brother, King Charles III, when she married Captain Mark Phillips in 1973.

“Though the Princess Royal hasn’t worn the decorative piece since a visit from the Spanish Royal Family in 2017, Princess Anne’s daughter Zara made the touching decision to wear it at the recent Coronation of King Charles III.

“I’d estimate the sparkling piece to be worth £40,000.”

Princess Anne, 72, and King Charles, 74, are two years apart in age and have always been especially close.

Their younger siblings, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, were born over a decade later so are much younger than Charles and Anne.

The Princess Royal is now married to Timothy Laurence, 68, and the pair live in Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire.
