ORGANIZING your home can be a daunting experience.

If you haven’t done a deep clean or major clutter sweep in a while, you often wrestle with where to begin, what products to use, and what items you should keep and toss.

A cleaning and DIY expert named Stephanie Booth, who goes by @StephanieBoothRealtor on TikTok, has gained a following of over 250k users thanks to her videos that offer useful home hacks.

She recently shared five beginner organization tips that make tidying up your space a little less intimidating.

DON’T COMPARE TO SOCIAL MEDIA

Stephanie’s first piece of advice was to stop comparing your home to the pristine ones you see on social media.

“Those are highly curated spaces, and organization isn’t one size fits all.”

She does, however, think these TikTok dream homes are a good source of inspiration.

PIECE BY PIECE

The cleaning expert also said to try and avoid becoming overwhelmed by the whole house.

“You’re more likely to get started if you break your house down into small areas and work on the area that bothers you the most,” she explained.

If the kitchen’s mess has been causing you migraines, tackle that room today and save the bathroom for tomorrow.

MICRO AREAS

Her third tip was to then further break down the room of your choice into even smaller micro areas.

“Prioritize what needs to be done in that area—maybe it’s a drawer. Start microscopic and then build from there,” she said.

CREATE ZONES

Stephanie said that before you begin to organize any area, you should create three zones: a keep, a donate, and a trash zone.

“You can only keep it if it has a home, otherwise donate or trash it.”
