THE King is set to take on a major new role because of Prince Harry.
Charles will be the Captain General of the Royal Marines – a job the Duke of Sussex was stripped of in his 2020 Megxit deal.
Before Harry, the title belonged to the Duke of Edinburgh.
It was previously thought that Princess Anne would take on the role after Harry -becoming the first female Captain General.
But the palace today announced it will be King Charles.
The announcement came hours after Harry revealed the title of his explosive £35m memoir will be "Spare".

The book promises"raw, unflinching honesty", with experts saying the Palace are on "tenterhooks" while awaiting its contents.
In a personal message to the Royal Marines as they mark their 358th birthday today, the King said: "It is the greatest possible pleasure to assume the role of your Captain General.
"I am exceptionally proud to follow in the footsteps of so many members of my family over the last three and a half centuries, all of whom held the role with a deep sense of admiration.
“The Royal Marines have a distinguished and unparalleled history, both on land and at sea.

Royal sources earlier said it would be “provocative” if the post were given to his brother William, 38.
Harry, 36, is said to “bitterly disappointed” at losing the role, among a host of other positions.
Harry – a retired Army major who served two tours of Afghanistan as Captain Wales – stepped away from royal duties in March 2020 before he and Meghan moved their family to the US.
In February the following year – as part of the final separation – Queen Elizabeth removed three key roles.

They were Captain General Royal Marines — handed down by his late grandad Prince Philip — Honorary Air Commandant of RAF Honington in Suffolk and Commodore-in-Chief Small Ships and Diving, Royal Naval Command.

Palace insiders said his military roles were removed amid fears TV bosses could use them to promote his Netflix documentaries and US talk shows.
