With a seperate piece for every toe and a build that looks like a no-show sock with a sole, Vibram‘s infamous FiveFingers is an undeniably unique piece of footwear. Now, after serving as the centerpiece of a wild Balenciaga collaboration it’s returned in an ecologically conscious “KSO Eco” makeup. The “KSO Eco” debuted in limited quantities during December 2020, and was crafted around an ethos of minimizing its environmental impact while still providing the same level of performance as the original FiveFingers.

Uppers are constructed of sustainable hemp, a soft-yet-durable form-fitting material that wraps around the wearer’s foot and toes. Dark heather gray is the primary color used, though the collar, eyestays and heel each feature a medium gray overlay. A simple toggle lacing system provides enhanced fit as well.

Down below, signature rubber outsoles are composed of a proprietary compound known as N-Oil. 90% or more of any N-Oil item’s construction is made of natural ingredients, without sacrificing flexibility or grip. These outsoles extend to the front of each toe to prevent stubbing, and the look is completed by familiar yellow Vibram branding on the tongue, heel, lateral forefoot and outsole.

The Vibram FiveFingers “KSO Eco” is available now on the Vibram webstore in both men’s and women’s sizes. The MSRP is set at $110 USD.
