Two of TV’s biggest names are joining forces with streaming giant Netflix on a new series. 50 Cent and Kenya Barris are developing a TV series based on 50’s best-selling book, The 50th Law, a semi-autobiographical story about 50 Cent’s rise as a young hustler to a producing mogul.

Throughout the book, anecdotes and lessons from historical figures like Abraham Lincoln, Sun Tzu, Socrates, Napoleon, Malcolm X and James Baldwin noticeably play a big role in the growth of 50 Cent as a businessman. These stories are expected to make a greater appearance in the Netflix series.

The idea of turning 50’s book into a series was brought to Barris’s attention by Hale Rothstein, his long-time collaborator. Rothstein and Barris are expected to write the show’s pilot as well as executive produce the series under Barris’s Khalabo Ink Society production company. 50 will also be serving as executive producer through his G-Unit Film & Television banner.

50 Cent currently has a full plate of projects, currently working on a several spinoffs of his Power universe, as long as a slew of other projects such as ABC’s For Life and Family Affair. The Black-ish has previously worked with other rappers including Kid Cudi for the upcoming adult animated series, Entergalactic.
