A former presenter on CITV has claimed that she was made to wear a minimiser bra after viewers complained about her breasts when hosting a children’s show.

From 1998 until 2001, Danielle Nicholls fronted the ITV children’s channel, having been chosen for the role out of hundreds of applicants.

She went on to star on TV programmes including Diggit, Night Fiver and The Unprofessionals.

However, while looking back on the early days of her career, the TalkTV personality remembers the complaints that were submitted by viewers when she was just 19 years old.

‘When I first started at CITV there were so many complaints about my boobs. I was only 19 and only had a D-cup at the time, but I was a size eight, so it was a problem,’ she told the Daily Star.

‘I had to wear what was called a minimiser bra – in the 2000s it wasn’t trendy to have a big bust at all.’

Danielle told the publication that she ‘got her head around’ the request because of her position of hosting a children’s TV programme, despite fellow female colleagues with smaller bust sizes apparently being able to wear tops that she couldn’t.

The presenter said that since having children and breastfeeding them, she’s accused of having a boob job ‘all the time’, having gained weight after giving birth.

She insisted that while she’s had Botox and filler, she’s ever had cosmetic surgery on her breasts.

Danielle hit back at a TalkTV viewer who supposedly complained about her wearing a dress with a peep-hole cut out in the front.

‘I just think it’s really wrong, I’m aware I have a big bust, but it’s natural and it’s all mine. I’ve spent so long feeling embarrassed about it, but I’m always apologising for my boobs,’ she stated.

The presenter emphasised that women shouldn’t feel they have to apologise for having large breasts, even if they face derogatory remarks from trolls.

Earlier this month, Danielle shared the TalkTV clip in question when a caller accused her of having her breasts ‘hanging out’, as they remarked: ‘I’m not quite happy with Danielle.’

‘I’m not going to let you bodyshame me,’ she replied, refusing to back down over the suggestion that she should dress different because she’s a mother.
