As many Selling Sunset fans know, Jason Oppenheim is president and founder of The Oppenheim Group, the Los Angeles-based brokerage behind the wildly-addictive Netflix show. According to the firm’s site, he alone has closed more than a billion dollars in sales, and counts $300 million in active listings in his current portfolio. Not too shabby!

Given his successful track record, it make sense for any realtor to take the reality TV star’s advice when it comes to selling properties — even when you are successful on your own, like Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause. The DWTS alum, who is worth $5 million herself, in large part because of her ability to wow clients with her real estate prowess, shared the best tip Oppenheim, her boss, ever gave her during a Q & A on her Instagram Story.

And it turns out, the advice is all about believing in yourself and your abilities as a realtor.

Jason Oppenheim told Chrishell Stause exactly how to get a listing

When it comes to earning business, Oppenheim, who inherited the business from his great-great grandfather according to Film Daily, assumes the sale, according to Stause. As she told a fan on Instagram about her boss’s approach to winning a listing, “Instead of going in and trying to convince sellers to choose us, he walks in with 100% confidence and speaks as if it’s already his listing,” she shared (via House Beautiful).

Stause then admitted, relatably, that she has not always had as much confidence as she does today. When the 39-year-old didn’t believe in herself, she said it’s best to “fake it.”

But no amount of confidence can win a sale if you are not well-versed on the listing, according to the star, who said Oppenheim encouraged her to “do your homework and be prepared or it won’t work.”
