Strictly Come Dancing star and former Love Island contestant Zara McDermott has revealed a health diagnosis while her other half, Sam Thompson, is halfway around the world in the I’m A Celeb jungle.
Zara, who won't be heading to Australia to greet boyfriend Sam Thompson when he exits the jungle, revealed in an Instagram Q&A that she is making changes to her diet as she has “early signs of developing osteoporosis”.
Zara often shares details about her private life online with her followers and went into detail about her choice of hot drink after she was asked: “Your favourite coffee?”
Along with a sweet photo of her enjoying a hot drink, Zara said: “I always have a skinny mocha. I used to be an almond milk gal but I recently found I have early signs of developing osteoporosis (my mum and nan both have it!) so I'm making switches to add calcium into my diet! Starting with my coffee hehe. ”
The documentary maker continued: “My absolute fave at the moment is the maple hazel from Costa hah I'm so obsessed with it."
According to the NHS: “Osteoporosis is a health condition that weakens bones, making them fragile and more likely to break. It develops slowly over several years and is often only diagnosed when a fall or sudden impact causes a bone to break (fracture).”
During the same Q&A, Zara was asked why she wasn’t heading to the jungle to greet Sam, to which she informed her followers that Sam's best friend and TOWIE star Pete Wicks, would be the one waiting for Sam at the end of the iconic rope bridge.
She continued: “We’ve had a few laughs and jokes about this. But in all seriousness; Sam thought I was still going to be in Strictly (bless him, the optimism), so Pete cleared his whole diary for ⅔ weeks to be there.
“I also have had to rush back to work as soon as Strictly finished to finish two of my documentaries before Xmas which I am currently abroad filming now & we also have training for our final Strictly number.”
Zara also added that Sam was “so excited” that Pete was going to be there and that he was happy for her to be “waiting for him back at base”.
