Brianna Gibbs claims the younger brother of producer Young Chop hit her and pulled a chunk out of her hair out during an altercation before she shot him on Sunday, April 17.

AceShowbizJohnny May Cash was shot and killed by his own girlfriend. Several days after news broke about the Chicago rapper’s shocking death, it’s now revealed that it was his own girlfriend Brianna Gibbs who pulled the trigger.

Brianna was arrested in Bronzeville six hours after the incident which occurred on Sunday morning, April 17. According to the police documents obtained by XXL, police responded to a Shotspotter alert at a location near the 8400 block of South Aberdeen Street around 2:20 A.M. and discovered four spent 9-mm shell casings.

Neither Johnny, born Tyrone Pittman, nor his girlfriend was still on the scene when police arrived. Authorities later found out that Johnny had been driven to Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Chicago by a friend where he was admitted with a gunshot wound to the thigh. He later succumbed to his injury.

Brianna, meanwhile, was driven to a family member’s home before being taken to the hospital where she filed a domestic violence report. Police then learned that she was a suspect in Johnny’s killing and took her into custody with a first-degree murder charge.

Brianna Gibbs’ Mug Shot

In custody, Brianna admitted to shooting Johnny after an altercation took place last weekend in Gresham. She told detectives that he got violent with her, allegedly hitting her and pulling a chunk of her hair out before she shot him.

An assistant public defender said in court on Tuesday the shooting was “clearly self-defense” and noted Brianna was treated for a split lip that required “numerous” stitches and has bruises on her chest and legs. Judge Susana Ortiz agreed that the case appeared to have a strong self-defense claim and set her bail at $100,000.

Previously, social media users were rambling with a speculation that Johnny’s death had something to do with a viral video last month that showed him beating a young woman. In the said video, Johnny was seen violently throwing a young woman against a wall twice while grabbing her by the hair. He allegedly also punched her in the head before she managed to run away and escape the abuse while being barefoot.

Johnny is the younger brother of Young Chop, a rapper and producer who is known for his work with Chief Keef. Johnny himself was credited as a young pioneer in the Chicago drill movement during his life.
