Long Lost Family star Nicky Campbell, 60, has said that his wife Tina Ritchie’s card was “snatched” by an unknown man. The BBC Radio 5 Live presenter took to Twitter and detailed the incident.

Nicky explained that his partner was mugged at a cash machine on October 29.

The broadcaster, who tied the knot with Tina in 1997, reassured his followers that she is doing fine following the incident.

In view of his 171,000 followers, he wrote: “Tina was mugged this am. She’s ok.

“Just shocked and annoyed. He was behind her at the cash machine and said ‘Don’t use this machine it’s just swallowed my card’ then snatched her card.

“She grabbed his arm and he said ‘How dare you touch me’ and legged it.”

Revealing how he was consoling his wife after the incident, Nicky explained they were having “wine by the fire now”.

He was swiftly inundated with messages of support on the micro-blogging site.

Twitter user, @Tazmum67 said: “Main thing she’s OK. Cards cash can be replaced but not health and well-being.”

Richard Glazer tweeted: “I hope Tina is ok. This is horrendous and so much more. I am so sorry for her, and your lovely family.

“Jesus, what is going on in this country! Nicky, I offer all my support and empathy to Tina, you and your family.”

Matt added: “That’s bl**dy awful news. Glad Tina is home and settled.”

Last year, Nicky shared footage of the terrifying moment his wife confronted brazen thieves who were stripping parts from his car.

The TV and radio host shared footage of the moment, filmed from the automated camera outside his home in South West London.

At the time, he wrote: “This afternoon. 2 guys attempt to steal a catalytic converter from our car. Tina spots them. Confronts them. They leave. ‘What the bl**dy hell do you think you’re doing?’ Brazen.”

Back in 2011, Nicky also revealed he had chased a burglar from his garden while naked.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live listeners: “I got up on the loo and looked out of the window and there was a bloke in the garden trying to steal my bike.

“So I bashed on the window. I was stark Jackson Pollock naked.

“He looked up – he was a white guy, mid-20s – and I raced downstairs and adrenaline completely took over.”

He continued: “I would have gone into that garden and jumped on top of him stark naked.

“I wanted to get him – is that bad? Have-a-go hero with dangling bits.”
