Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are said to have "come a long way" since she filed for divorce earlier this year but are still pushing ahead with proceedings, according to reports.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kim, 40, filed for divorce from rapper Kanye, 44, after seven years of marriage earlier this year.

Months after the news of the split, the former husband and wife baffled fans as as she appeared at her ex-husband's party for his album Donda, in a wedding dress.

It was later reported by TMZ the pair were "working on their relationship" in private.

Now it's been claimed the former husband and wife have "come a long way" since their split, but are still pushing forward with the divorce.

An insider has told People: "They have come a long way since Kim filed for divorce.

"It's taken them months to get to this point. Kim is happy that they get along and that things are amicable."

The insider added how their focus has shifted from their personal issues to their prioritise their children.


Kim and Kanye, who recently reportedly split from model Irina Shayk, share kids North, eight, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and two year old Psalm together.

The source added: "The kids will always be her number one priority. She wants to have a friendly relationship with Kanye, because it benefits the kids."

"Filing for divorce was always the most difficult decision for Kim. She only filed because they had issues that they couldn't solve. She will always love Kanye though," the insider said.

Despite speculation that Kim's appearance at the Donda album event, the insider added: "Right now, she is not calling [the divorce] off though."

The recreation of Kim and Kanye's wedding at the event earlier this week is said to have demonstrated a "more holistic sense of love as a healing force" rather than a reconciliation of their marriage.

"The thing that's important is it's not at all about them getting back together or something like that," they clarified.

Earlier this week, a separate source told the publication that the pair are on good terms but are not getting back together.

They said: "Kim and Kanye have a friendly relationship. It's always been important to Kim to have a good relationship with Kanye. They are not getting back together though.

"They have come a long way. The kids are thrilled when they see Kanye. Kim wants them to have an amazing relationship with their dad, just like she did with her dad."
