Today’s (May 27) the big day – Marvel‘s new attraction Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is officially open!!

The new coaster is located at Walt Disney World‘s EPCOT park, and is located in the World Discovery section of the park.

Cosmic Rewind is a family-thrill attraction which “features the first ever reverse-launch on a Disney coaster and is one of the largest fully-enclosed coasters in the world,” and it even rotates 360 degrees!

While the ride is now open to guests going to EPCOT, there are some things that you should know before you go.

Find out the details inside…

According to Disney Parks Blog, those going need to be aware that there is currently NO standby line, and you must enter a virtual queue in order to experience the ride. There will also be the opportunity to purchase an individual Lightning Lane entry.

To enter the virtual queue, beginning at 7am on the day of your park reservation, with a valid ticket or pass, along with a Disney Park Pass reservation for EPCOT, guests will be able to “check for an available boarding group via the My Disney Experience app* and request access to the virtual queue. This can be done before you leave your Resort hotel or on your way to the park.

At 1 p.m., there will be another opportunity to join the virtual queue for anyone who wasn’t able to join a boarding group earlier in the day. Keep in mind, guests must be inside EPCOT to access this second virtual queue opportunity.”

It is also to note that entering the virtual does not guarantee that you will be able to experience the attraction.

If you are staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort, Disney Deluxe Villa Resort or another select hotel, you will have an additional opportunity to join the virtual queue at 6pm on select days during extended evening park hours. “Guests with this benefit do not need to be in EPCOT to request to join at that time.”

You do need to have valid theme park admission and a theme park reservation for the same park on the same day, in order to experience extended evening hours. Another option, “guests may experience extended evening hours if they have a ticket or annual pass with the Park Hopper option and first enter the park where they made their reservation.” You can find more details on extended evening hours at

Guests can also purchase Lightning Lane entry through the My Disney Experience App via the Disney Genie service on the same day of visit.

Don’t forget your attraction photo!

In order to download your ride photo, there are two options – using your mobile device, enable Bluetooth for the My Disney Experience before going on the ride and make sure you logged in earlier that day. Keep your device out of low power mode, then, all you have to do is put your device in your pocket or bag and enjoy the ride!

Option two is wear a MagicBand that is linked to your My Disney Experience account.

If you missed it, this actor joins the Guardians in a new role for the ride.
