Dan Walker issues update on recovery following bike accident

Channel 5’s Dan Walker, 45, has surprisingly been backed by I’m A Celebrity South Africa star Fatima Whitbread to fill the shoes of the next James Bond.

The unexpected exchange happened after comparisons were drawn between the former BBC Breakfast star and a certain 007 actor.

Dan wowed fans as he attended the Sports Industry awards on Thursday in honour of a Sheffield children’s charity whilst donning an impressive pink tailored suit.

He rocked the Bond-like ensemble in tribute to the Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.

The news presenter’s outfit sent fans into a frenzy as they drew similarities to Daniel Craig – the most recent Bond star who is due to be replaced imminently.

Over 2,000 people liked the Instagram post and were quick to give their opinion on Dan’s outfit, while the charity responded: “Wow! We love it, Dan! [emoji] We might have to get Theo one of his very own [emoji] ”. (sic)

Another fan was quick to add: “Very Daniel Craig [heart eye emoji].”

Dan did bare an uncanny resemblance to Daniel thanks to his stylish ensemble, later posting a photo on Twitter of both himself and the A-lister, 55, next to each other donning nearly identical outfits.

“I am available if needed,” he captioned the tweet with laughing emojis. “Even got the hand in the correct pocket.”

This left fans in hysterics, with another commenting: “Smooth & suave……but can you deal with the violence?”. (sic)

One fan who backed the Channel 5 presenter to star as the new James Bond was Olympic athlete Fatima, who said: “Dan would make a good 007 he’s a perfect gentleman! [emoji’s].” (sic)

Fatima recently returned to our screens earlier this week on the new all-stars spin-off of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The show was pre-recorded in South Africa’s Kruger National Park last September and – unlike the live shows – allowed the star to have access to her Twitter account.

The new edition of the long-running series sees some of the most memorable campmates over the past 20 years return to the jungle, with one lucky celeb being crowned the first I’m A Celeb Legend.

Those re-entering the competition include Coronation Street’s Helen Flanagan, Diversity’s Jordan Banjo, and TV personality Janice Dickinson – with more secret stars heading in as the show continues.
