Speaking with hosts Ronan Keating and Sam Quek, Joan was full of stories about celebrities she had met over the years.

The hosts quizzed Joan asking if she had any friendly fashion advice for our current politicians.

Sam said to Joan: “How about Boris, Boris Johnson?

“Any advice for him?”

Joan responded: “Yes, I would say go and get your suits tailored better.”

The iconic actress then went on to reveal that she was co-workers with the prime minister at one point when she worked with The Spectator.

She said: “But he used to be my boss.

“I write about that in the diaries, that he was my boss, because when I was writing in The Spectator, and he was the editor, I wrote about a lunch that we were at, that we were all at together.”

She added: “I said, ‘There was a very loud man there called Boris Johnson and he looks like he combs his hair with an egg beater’.”

Laughter soon erupted between Ronan and Sam as well as the crew off-camera.

Sam said to Joan: “I think he still does!”

Fans of the actress were quick to Twitter to ask for Joan to be a regular on the show.

Anniedeva said: “@BBCTheOneShow can you get @joancollinsdbe back on again as the only guest so we can hear her fab stories please?

“She’s brilliant! Def getting her book!” (sic)

JulietMcKee added: “I’d love a private lunch with #joancollins.

“A little table in the corner at Claridges, a couple of bottles of Veuve Clicquot, and a bucket load of gossip.”

Scott_Dennis commented: “If I’m half as funny at 88 years of age as Joan Collins is I’ll be happy.”

Many viewers were blown away by Joan’s glamorous appearance on the show.

The star wore white, looking every inch the superstar, even blending into the background on set.

Joan quipped: “What’s this white thing behind me? It looks like I’ve got wings.”
