EDINBURGH is already a special place to visit because of its breathtaking scenery and architecture, however, near Christmas time it becomes a bit more magical.

Roads in Edinburgh are jollied up with Christmas market stalls throughout December and here is all you need to know about the festive event taking place in the Scottish capital.

When does Edinburgh Christmas market start?

Earlier in the year, the Edinburgh Christmas market plans were up in the air after Angels Events Experience – the company that also runs Winter Wonderland in London's Hyde Park – pulled out funding and organising.

Unique Events took over the event just in time to run the special Christmas Market in the streets of Edinburgh and will also hold a special show for this year's Hogmanay.

The Edinburgh Christmas Market will kick off on Friday, November 25, 2022, and close off on January 1, 2023.

Meanwhile, the ice rink in George Street will open a day after on November 26, 2022, and run till January 3, 2023.
