BRITS have been praising a beach that they can't believe is in the UK, with crystal clear waters, sandy beaches and wild ponies.

Holiday costs are continuing to rise, leaving more and more people considering staycations instead of trips abroad this year.

However, that doesn't mean they can't still visit beautiful locations.

Tiktok user Imogen Gunter (@imgoengunter) revealed one place those thinking about staying in the UK this summer might consider, which might help them feel like they're abroad.

Nanjizal beach in Cornwall is a small cove that remains relatively quiet, even during the summer months.

It's home to an abundance of caves and rock formations for people who want to explore and swim in and out of them.

There are also freshwater waterfalls among the rocks, adding to the photo opportunities on the beach.

Although there are plenty of boulders on the bay, left over from storms, there are a lot of sandy spots where people can relax and sunbathe, while enjoying the scenery.

Nanjizal is also a great spot for seal watching, with pups often seen bobbing around in the clear waters off the shore.

However, they're not the only wild animals that people can get up close and personal with, with wild ponies also frequently spotted on the grasslands at the back of the bay.

In her video of the beach, Imogen was filmed petting the friendly ponies with the beautiful blue water in shot behind her.

She also explores the cervices in the rocks and swims in the turquoise waters.

The footage shows that the beach is completely empty, despite it clearly being filmed on a beautiful sunny day.

That is because, according to Cornwall Beaches, it requires a walk along a coastal path to reach, which makes it a nice secluded spot.

However, similarly beautiful seas and white sand can be found just a stone's throw away at Porthcurno beach and Porthchapel beach, both of which are more accessible.

Sennen beach and Sennen Cove are also very close by.

All of the beaches are in the Penzance region of Cornwall and could be explored on a holiday in the area.

Tent pitches can be found in the area from £15 per night in some campsites, while caravan pitches can be found from £18.

For those not keen on staying outside for the night, bed and breakfast can be found for as little as £37.25pp per night.

Visitors don't have to rely on the sea for swimming, with Penzance home to Britain's largest art deco lido, the Jubilee Pool.

Elsewhere, the Trengwainton Gardens are home to lots of exotic plant species that can grow in warm Cornwall micro-climate, alongside the likes of magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias.

The landscape of West Cornwall is also covered with ancient Stone and Bronze Age sites for visitors to explore.

These include Lanyon Quoit, the holed stone of Men-an-Tol and the Merry Maidens stone circle.

The region is also home to "Britain's loveliest village" according to poet Dylan Thomas, with the exceptionally quaint Mousehole a great place to visit.

The tiny fishing village is home to a tiny harbour mouth is a great place to explore, or to go crabbing.
