THE sunshine is back to give us a last blast of summer this week, and it’s not too late to make the most of it with a last-minute break to the British seaside.
There are some great deals available for short stays at holiday parks and seafront hotels so you can sneak in a summer holiday to British beauty spots such as the Isle of Wight, Bournemouth and Dorset for half the peak season price.

Escape the rat-race for a 4-night stay near the quaint Devonshire town of Ilfracombe, while there are also great savings to be had on last-minute stays in stunning North Wales with Hoseasons holidays from £90.
For beach days, peaceful Pevensey Bay in Sussex is cheap and cheerful with 3-night Park Holidays breaks from £179 per stay, while you can bag last-minute trips to nearby Combe Haven from £272.
Consider a late escape to the Isle of Wight, which currently has late availability with Away Resorts for chalets and lodges overlooking the wide sands of Whitecliff Bay.
Or take a few days’ time out on peaceful Mersea Island in Essex, with a pleasant village atmosphere and excellent fish and chips.
Bournemouth is another brilliant base for a UK beach break with plenty of facilities and great accommodation such as the clifftop Carlton Hotel currently offering 45% off stays including dinner.
There’s also buckets of fun to be had at the traditional seaside resort of Cleethorpes in Lincolnshire, which has cheap breaks currently available with Haven from £261 per stay.

For late availability, Premier Inn is always a good bet, with coastal hotel stays from £44 per person per night.
