The original series of Gogglebox had us gripped from the first episode, fast becoming unmissable TV spawning nineteen more series, with the newest instalment set to air on Friday 18 February.
As it turned out, watching people watch the telly could be very brilliant indeed.
But with the cast ever changing, just what happened to the Googlebox OG's and where are they now?
While some became household names, others pretty much disappeared off our screens as quickly as they had arrived.
Here we take a look at where the stars of the original series of Gogglebox are now, including the Tappers and Steph and Dom Parker…

Chris and Stephen
The two hairdressers seemed close friends during the ten series they filmed together, admitting that they even previously dated.
However, behind the scenes things were far from harmonious between the pair.
Following some confusion over signing up for a project away from Gogglebox, Chris felt Stephen had betrayed him after the opportunity fell through.
Things got so bad that Chris felt he couldn’t sign up for another series of the show if it meant having to sit next to Stephen. What followed was a refusal to even speak to each other.
Producers originally agreed they could both stay and feature on alternate weeks, however, unhappy with Chris’ new choice of partner they withdrew the offer and only Stephen returned.
Stephen initially brought in his hilarious mum Pat to join him on the sofa for two series before his husband, Daniel Lustig-Webb, took over in 2019 and became a regular fixture.
The Tappers
Viewers adored Watford family The Tappers, comprised of mum Nikki, dad Jonathan and siblings Josh and Amy.
The family left the show for a good reason – after son Josh ended up landing a job in politics.
Josh beat thousands of applicants to secure a Civil Service apprenticeship based in the communications department of No 10's Cabinet Office.
Josh, now 24, previously reflected on the family’s time on the telly, saying: “Of course, I miss it and the sitting on the couch watching TV. But I am more focused on my future, it’s a more a secure path.”
Meanwhile in 2018, sister Amy, who started the show age 13 and is now 22, took part in a series of Celebs Go Dating.
While she may not have found love, she charmed viewers and made some celeb pals along the way.
However, after this the family had to be axed from the show due to the "no celebs" rule.
Amy has also gone on to amass a huge following over on Instagram, where she regularly shares updates on her weight loss journey and life away from the cameras.
Steph and Dom Parker
The posh couple left us in stitches with their incessant wine drinking and witty one liners, and they haven’t been far from our screens since.
The couple have taken part in Four In a Bed, Celebrity Masterchef and The Jump, which left Dom with suspected concussion after a nasty fall.
They even took to the stage for 2017's Let's Sing and Dance For Comic Relief to perform Dead Ringer For Love by Meatloaf and Cher.
They also hosted their own show on TalkRadio every week for 20-months.
However, sadly they no longer run The Salutation, in Kent, after closing its doors in March following financial struggles.
The Siddiquis
Everyone loves the Siddiquis, with Sid, Umar, Baasit and Raza from Derby on our screens since the beginning.
Dad Sid, an NHS worker, appears with his two sons, Baasit and Umar whilst his third son Raza makes occasional appearances.
When they aren’t filming, Baasit works as a teacher and Umar is a Biomedical Microbiologist at The Royal Derby Hospital and part-time electronic musician. The family have starred on the show from the very start, and are still a permanent fixture in 2022.

Leon and June
Everyone’s favourite couple, theirs was the marriage we all hoped we would one day have.
Leon passed away aged 83, two days before Christmas in 2017 and June decided to write their love story in tribute to him.
June wrote a memoir about her 62 year marriage called Leon and June: Life, Love and Laughter – Our Story.
June said: “Leon always said ‘One day I will write our story – our love story'.”
June, 82, sadly died in May 2020, after a short illness, with many heartbroken at her loss.
The Moffats
Scarlett Moffatt has gone on to do some incredible things since leaving the show in 2016, winning I'm a Celeb and landing presenting roles on Extra Camp and Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.
The family also starred together with Scarlett's nan on a reality series called The Tribe Next Door in 2019, where they travelled to the Namibian desert to live with indigenous people of the area.
However, the show was blasted for being a "racist cringe fest", with 65 complaints made to Ofcom.
Queen of the Jungle Scarlett returned to the Australian jungle to host I'm A Celeb spin-off show Extra Camp, before being replaced by Emily Atack after two series.
Sandi and Sandra
Sandi and Sandra lit up our screens on series one with their hilarious comments.
However, since leaving the show, the pair are believed to have fallen out with Sandy seeming to mock Sandra’s "celebrity status".
Sandi left Gogglebox ahead of Sandra in 2016 in order to pursue other opportunities.
She went on to do a number of reality TV projects including Celebrity Big Brother in 2017 and Famous and Fighting Crime last year, and is an aspiring soul singer.
Meanwhile, Sandra remained on the show until 2017, and temporarily starred alongside her daughter, Chanchez Martin.
The reality star had bagged a place on Celebrity Big Brother, however, was axed after spilling the beans on Twitter.
Sandra admitted the following year that she was "broke" and moving into an over 55 home after being homeless for months.
Sandra recently confirmed the very sad news that several of her family members had passed away due to COVID-19, including her sister-in-law.
The Gilbeys
George Gilbey became the first celebrity Goggleboxer, being axed from the show for becoming just too famous after appearing on Celebrity Big Brother.
In 2019, the Essex boy was jailed for three months after being found guilty of drink-driving.
George was last seen working in his local Morrissons during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Taking to social media he shared a photo of himself in a Morrisons uniform, writing: “Everyone gotta do there bit… #coronavirus.” [sic]
George starred on Gogglebox alongside his mum Linda and step-dad Pete, who continued to feature on the show after George's departure.
The couple became firm favourites among fans, and stayed on the hit show up until 2020. In June 2021, it was sadly announced that Pete had died aged 71 from a short illness.
Silent Jay
Potentially our favourite forgotten Googleboxer, Jay was the boyfriend of Eve Woerdenweber, appearing on the sofa with her mum Viv and German-born dad Ralf from The Wirral.
Jay fast acquired the nickname 'Silent Jay' and had audiences howling with his muted responses.
However, since leaving the show, Jay insists it was all just clever editing.
Jay told The Sun: "I get recognised as that guy who never speaks — and most people get shocked by how much I talk. I am generally quite talkative.
"They just edit the bits where I talk out."
Since the show, Jay has been working at Baa Bar Fleet Street in Liverpool.
