An Australian nutritionist has shared her incredible ‘burrito hack’ for the perfect working lunch, and you can meal prep it in advance when you have a busy week.

Lyndi Cohen, from Sydney, said her nutritious ‘burrito wrap stack’ is a healthy take on the ‘wrap hack’ that went viral last month.

The hack requires people to make a small cut in the wrap from the centre to the outside edge, before laying down the filling in separate quarters of the wrap and folding them all together at the end.

‘This is my take on the wrap challenge and it’s seriously worth trying!’ Lyndi posted on Instagram.

‘I call it the burrito wrap stack and it’s filled with some of my favourite nutritious ingredients.’

To make Lyndi’s burrito, you’ll need a wholegrain wrap, cooked chicken strips, brown rice and quinoa mixed together, sweetcorn kernels and shredded cheese.

Each of these should be placed in the four different quarters of your wrap, and then Lyndi recommends adding taco spice to the top of the cheese.

How to make the ‘burrito wrap stack’ 

Lyndi said you can make the burrito stack with whichever fillings you like (her version pictured)

INGREDIENTS

Wholegrain wrap

Cooked chicken strips

Brown rice 

Quinoa

Sweetcorn kernels

Shredded cheese

Taco spice

Chopped avocado

Chopped tomatoes

METHOD

1. Cut from the edge of the wrap to the centre with a pair of scissors.

2. Fill each quarter with the cooked chicken strips, brown rice and quinoa mixed together, sweetcorn kernels and shredded cheese.

3. Top the shredded cheese section with taco spice.

4. Gently fold the quarters of the wrap over the top of one another.

5. Pop it in the sandwich press for a couple of minutes until it’s sizzling and toasted.

6. Top with chopped avocado and chopped tomatoes, and tomato sauce if you want to.

‘Wrap it up, pop it in the sandwich press and it’s ready to go,’ Lyndi said.

‘You can top it with chopped avocado and tomatoes to make a homemade salsa, and of course you could always swap the chicken for black beans if you want a vegetarian option.’

The nutritionist added that if you want to meal prep the wrap in advance, you can make them and freeze it before you grill it and add your salsa.

Thousands who saw the video were impressed and said they wanted to try it for themselves.

‘Yum, that looks so delicious,’ one commenter posted.

‘The fold is genius,’ another added. 

The wrap hack went viral last month, after thousands of foodies shared twists on TikTok to the original challenge.

The unusual wrapping style has been used to make delicious Mexican quesadillas, lunch wraps, ham, cheese and tomato snacks, dessert and now even upgraded to a boxed takeaway meal.

TikTokker Abbie Murray shared the KFC version of the hack online under the hashtag ‘wrapgodofficial’ and the simple trick once again went viral. 

There have been many other iterations of the hack since.
