Summer is officially here and with temperatures rising, so is the need to keep cool in the warm weather.

As such, it's no surprise that little ones are often after sweet treats to help them cool down.

Treats such as ice lollies come with plenty of mess including drips that can lead to sticky floors and surfaces.

Mum of four and TikTok starShannon Dohertystepped in to share a foolproof way to stop drips using an everyday kitchen item – cupcake cases.

She pointed out that cupcake linings, which can be bought in a packet for £1 and so amount to approximately 1p each, can be pushed up the stick in twos or more.

That way they can easily catch any drips before they become a problem and get all over children and their clothes.

Showing her daughter snacking on an ice pop at the beach, Shannon said they easily create “no drip pops” for all the family.

However, that’s not the cupcake case's only use – as Shannon has revealed to other parents ahead of the summer months.

She said they can also be used to create a shield for drinks to stop bugs getting into them.

Simply push a straw through the bottom of the casing to create a paper lid for each glass you’re drinking from.

Another genius hack is to use them as little snack holders for when you’re in the garden or on the beach.

All you have to do is fill up the case with your chosen sweet or savoury treat and hand them out on a tray.

The three simple but effective hacks went down a storm with Shannon’s loyal TikTok followers.

One said: “Who knew they were so versatile.”

While another told the savvy mum: “How do u think this all up!!! Genius”

Recently aTikTok mum was horrified to find her child was drinking mouldfrom a sippy cup and urged other mums to check on their tots.

Sharing a look at the cup, she captioned it: "My baby has been drinking mould for months all day daily!!”

Her child had walked out of school with the cup and the mum decided to clean it herself.

The cup was filled with mould, leading the woman to ask parents to check the cups their children were using.
