Khloé Kardashian wants Tristan Thompson to step up to the plate as a dad and help “co-parent” their second child, conceived via surrogate, according to reports.
According to a source, the 38 year old is banking on ex boyfriend Tristan 31, being around for their baby, which has been claimed by PageSix to be a boy.
The on-off couple are already parents to True, four. Their new baby was conceived shortly before it was revealed Tristan had fathered another child while in a relationship with Khloe.
An insider has now claimed that Khloé never envisioned herself to be a “single mum” and wants Tristan to be active in their second child’s life.
They told People: “Just like they do with True, Khloé will co-parent the baby with Tristan. He is the dad and Khloé wants him involved as much as possible. He is great with True.”
Though Khloé is making sure Tristan stays close by, she also has a team of her own, as her mum Kris Jenner, sister Kim Kardashian and best friend Malika Haqq, have offered their support in helping with the baby.
“She has a great support system with a lot of help. She feels very lucky,” the source added.
Khloé’s representative confirmed on Wednesday 13 July that the reality star and Tristan are expecting their second baby, which was conceived via surrogate in November, and the child is said to be due soon.
Khloe and Tristan split up a month after the child was conceived, after it was discovered that Tristan fathered a son with personal trainer Maralee Nichols, 31, in December.
According to People, Khloé has had no desire to get back with Tristan following the scandal and has only been on strict co-parenting terms with the basketball player.
An insider told the publication: “Khloé and Tristan are not back together and have not spoken since December outside of co-parenting matters.”
This comes as it’s been reported by PageSix that Khloé has moved on romantically, and is dating a private equity investor, though she has not confirmed this.
While the star was extremely open about her desire to have another baby on the Kardashians' new Hulu series, she is thought to have wanted to keep the pregnancy of her second child out of the public eye to protect her surrogate and herself.
“Khloé kept the pregnancy a secret to protect surrogate privacy and safety,” a source told E! News.
“And to protect her mental health from judgement from the public as a result of Tristan's actions.”
