Just days after her sister in law Meghan Markle unveiled her plans to release a children's book named The Bench, The Duchess of Cambridge has stepped out on the day of her own very first book launch.
Hold Still: A Portrait Of Our Nation In 2020, which is available to buy in bookshops from today, features 100 images of the pandemic taken by people all around the world during the first lockdown.
Net profits raised from the sales will be split between the mental health charity Mind and The National Portrait Gallery in which Kate Middleton has paid a visit to today.
As well as visiting the National Portrait Gallery Archive to mark the occasion, the Duchess, 39, also paid Royal London hospital in East London a visit and chose to wear a scarlet red coat by Eponine London. It was the perfect choice for a sunny but chilly day in the capital.
Shining a positive light on their charitable work and celebrating Kate's passion for photography couldn't have come at a better time after tense family feuds and the death of William's grandfather Prince Philip.
Kate kept things chic for the outing, well we wouldn't expect anything less. Wearing a bespoke red collarless coat dress by Eponine London from the AW18 collection, we can't help but be reminded of her late mother in law Princess Diana, who was also a fan of a vibrant red coat from time to time.
The Duchess is no stranger to wearing longer style coats like this, not only for the reason of sticking to royal protocol and ensuring she has no fashion faux-pas which could potentially happen with shorter hems blowing up in the wind.
This is a new outfit choice for Kate, however we have seen her wear the brand before back in 2017 in which she wore a blue belted coat dress for a charity visit.
She teamed the long length style with a camel-coloured pleated skirt and the Montreal mini bag by designer DeMellier London – costing £425, and leather court heels in complementing toffee tones.
Mini bags are a huge trend for the season and we love how Kate has given her traditional coat dress a modern update with such sleek accessories.
Unfortunately you can't buy The Duchess' coat as it's from a previous season, however we've found some affordable copies so you too can be a lady in red…
