CASH hungry consumers have just DAYS left to get a free sum of £175.

The money boost is simple enough to get your hands on, but you have to do a simple switching step before it's yours.

That involves switching over your current account to a HSBC Advance account.

But the switch offer is only available until April 29, so there's not long left to apply.

You've only got to have opened the account by then though, and you've got 30 days to make the sitch to redeem your cash.

You'll also need to pay in at least £1,500 within 60 days and switch over two or more of your direct debits or standing orders to receive the money.

But once you've done that, HSBC ticks off your eligibility, and you'll receive the cash bonus within 30 days.

However, to qualify you can't have had an HSBC current account or opened a First Direct current account since January 1, 2019.

Martin Lewis was the first to recommend switching up your bank account to reap in the cash rewards that come with it.

He suggested making the leap over to the HSBC account in this week's MoneySavingExpert newsletter.

Through the money mogul is the only way you'll be able to get the full £175 as well.

You have to follow a specific link Martin and his MoneySavingExpert team has shared, otherwise you'll only benefit from £150 that's up for grabs directly from the bank itself.

But it's not the only bank offering rewards either.

There's plenty other switching benefits out there to choose from, so you don't have to race to snag the HSBC deal before it runs out.

Particularly if you find that the bank itself doesn't provide the services you need – like having a branch near you, or customer service that you're happy with.

It's a good idea to have a shop around and see what may suit you best.

The money mogul had also suggested jumping ship to First Direct, for example.

The bank is giving new customers £150.

There's also £125 on offer from both Halifax and Nationwide if you follow similar switching steps.

And if cash isn't your style, one high street bank is giving new customers 100 Greggs sausage rolls if they open an account instead.

But don't get too swept up in the free incentives, you should be sure to check all the eligibility criteria before signing up.

There might be other requirements for claiming the freebie, which could leave you out of pocket or with a product that you don't need.
