Tom Holland has reportedly been asked to host this year’s Oscars after he said he would be keen to front the event.

Last year’s ceremony went without a host due to the restrictions of the pandemic, but this year the Academy is believed to have asked 25-year-old Tom.

However, despite being a seemingly huge opportunity, the actor previously said that he was “too busy” to commit to the event.

London born Tom told THR: “Maybe in the future, but in all honesty, I’m just too busy right now. I don’t have the time.” He added that he’d “love” to do it.

So as Tom mulls over this year’s event, let’s take a look at his financial credentials…

Tom Holland became one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars after being cast in the Marvel universe as Spiderman.

As of last year, Tom’s estimated net worth is $15 million.

Before his casting as Peter Parker in 2015, his earnings were closer to £1 million.

Thanks to Marvel, he can now expect to make anything between $2 million and $5 million dollars for an independent film, and up to $10 million for a big-budget studio blockbuster.

In 2021, Holland revealed that he had been cast as Fred Astaire in a biopic of the Hollywood star.

He can also next be seen in the video game adaptation Uncharted alongside Mark Wahlberg.

Tom started his career on stage and performed the lead in Billy Elliot The Musical for two years as a youngster.

From here, he landed roles in TV and film and in 2015 starred in The Heart Of The Sea which got him noticed by Hollywood producers.

It showed that the actor was able to hold his own alongside performers like Chris Hemsworth and Cillian Murphy.

The next year, Tom made his Marvel debut in Captain America: Civil War, and he has not looked back since.

Speaking about the casting on The Graham Norton Show, the star said a taxi driver predicted he would land the role on the way to his final audition.

"When I was going for my last audition, I was driving there, I was very nervous, and I had this driver. Lovely guy, but a little bit too honest," he said.

"He goes, 'You know what kid? I think you're going to get it.' I'm like, 'Really? Why?' And I was excited to hear that," Holland continued. "He goes, 'You know what? I think you're gonna get it because the kid that I just drove there, he is too good looking.'"

Tom was picked from 1500 actors including Timothy Chalamet.
