It’s going to be a summer season the residents of Summer Bay never forget, with a brand new Home and Away trailer teasing a huge explosion, a kidnap plot and a heartbreaking death.

The popular Aussie soap, which airs in the UK on Channel 5, is gearing up for an unmissable couple of months, with a number of storylines set to reach a dramatic peek in a truly intense week.

Justin Morgan (James Stewart), as seen in the trailer above, is on a rescue mission to save vulnerable young Andrew, who has been taken by the dangerous doomsday preppers cult Vita Nova. Concerned about the teen’s safety, the mainstay swoops into action on a rescue mission, determined to bring Andrew home.

Things, however, don’t exactly go as planned, with Justin subsequently being attacked and taken prisoner.

Leah Patterson (Ada Nicodemou), worried sick about her husband’s whereabouts, enlists the help of Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright), with the pair desperately tying to track down missing Justin.

With no sign of Justin and knowing exactly what Vita Nova is capable of, Leah is left fearing the worst, but will her beloved beau manage to make it out of this devastating ordeal alive?

Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons), meanwhile, is at the centre of another intense storyline, with her battle against Stunning Organics, a corrupt skincare company, reaching an explosive climax when a mysterious box addressed to her arrives at the Diner.

The popular character, as viewers know, has been receiving threatening messages and anonymous calls over the past few months, with the sender demanding that she stop doing interviews about the company.

But with Marilyn having refused to be bullied, the antagonists take things up a notch with this mystery box, which contains a bomb!

It’s not just Marilyn that’s in deadly danger either, as the box makes its way around the Bay, winding up in the hands of several of Summer Bay’s residents along the way.

In terrifying scenes, the bomb is activated, triggering a countdown timer.

Mali (Kyle Shilling), meanwhile, hears about the bomb threat and wastes little time in racing into action, speeding after his friends in a van, who are oblivious to the fact that they have a deadly bomb in their midst.

Is Mali too late to save them from a terrifying fate? It certainly appears that way, with a blast erupting just shortly before he makes it to the van. The devastating blast will rock the Bay, and one person won’t be coming home as a result.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1:45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR, with first-look episodes at 6:30pm on 5STAR.
