Burger King is one of my absolute favourites when it comes to fast food, so I was delighted when the team sent me some of their newest creations to try. I tucked into the Californian BBQ King (Single), Doritos Chilli Heatwave Chicken Fries and classic Burger King Fries.

Burger King UK has officially confirmed the launch of their brand-new Californian BBQ King Range available nationwide.

The range includes two American-inspired BBQ burgers, The Californian BBQ King and the Californian BBQ Royale.

I was lucky enough to try the Californian BBQ King (Single), which boasts a juicy flame-grilled Whopper burger, American cheese, crunchy white onions, fresh tomato, lettuce and golden crispy onions.

To top it off, there’s a generous swirl of sweet BBQ sauce on the bun and on top of the garnish.

Burger King generously sent me a portion of Doritos Chilli Heatwave Chicken Fries too.

Originally an April Fool, these took the UK by storm and have since been launched properly by the fast food chain.

Overall I was very impressed by my latest Burger King experience; the Californian BBQ King (Single) was of exceptional quality.

I’m not the biggest fan of cheese so I mostly ate around it but a friend confirmed to me that it tasted delicious.

The smattering of golden crispy onions was a nice touch, although I personally feel it could have been a more generous helping.

The sweet and zesty BBQ sauce pulled it all together really well and was a great alternative to tomato ketchup which is what I’d usually go for.

But what really delighted me were the Doritos Chilli Heatwave Chicken Fries – I’d never tasted anything like them.

The nine chicken pieces made with 100% juicy chicken breast, coated in a crispy layer of crushed Doritos tortilla chips and a dusting of Doritos Chilli Heatwave flavour.

These were super tasty and totally moreish – I definitely could have eaten more than nine pieces.

They had just the right amount of kick too them – not too mild, not too spicy – and I imagine these will be a firm favourite with children and adults alike.

The restaurant also treated me to a portion of Fries, a Burger King classic which never fail to impress.

Those who want to get their hands on these new menu items can visit participating stores nationwide.

The Californian BBQ King costs £7.99, but for an extra £1 hungry customers can upgrade to the Californian BBQ King Double (£8.99).

The Californian BBQ King Double uses the same mouth-watering ingredients but with an additional flame-grilled Whopper burger inside.

A Californian BBQ King Meal is priced at £10.19, while a Californian BBQ King Double is £11.19.

Chicken lovers can opt for the California Chicken Royale BBQ King (£7.99), which offers the same topping but with a juicy Chicken Royale burger. A Californian Chicken Royale BBQ King Meal will set Burger King customers back £10.19.
