A COUPLE who "flip" sofas to pay off their mortgage have expressed their delight after selling one that they picked up for free for an impressive £133.
Grace and Creighton document their money-making journey on their TikTok page, and are always on the lookout for bargains they can transform.
They spotted a brown sofa being given away on Facebook, and despite the fact it was "disgusting", because "they had a lot of dogs", they saw potential.
"We tried to clean it by hand and that was just not gonna work, so we stripped the (cushions), threw them in the washer and while that was cleaning I went to work on the rest of the sofa," Grace explained.
"There were so many dog stains and grease and grime that this was just a repeated process."
She showed the dirty water being tipped out of the cleaning device onto the grass.

And added: "This took a while but here's the best part – it came out so beautifully."
The pair then managed to sell the sofa for an impressive $175.
"Excellent work," one person commented on the video.
"But for 175, between the 2 of you?I’m assuming it a number of hours to complete.

"It’s something creighton and i can enjoy together," Grace replied.
"Some flips are huge pay outs and others just pass the time."
While somebody else commented: "You totally could have sold that couch for way more!
"Brand new couches go for $1000 or $2000 in a store & you made it look practically brand new."

And Grace replied: "Some flips bring big money and others don’t.
"The income is for *extra* payments on our mortgage so we are ok with not making huge profits sometimes."
