A DOG owner has shared her nightmare tale which saw her beloved pooch turn out to be a different sex and breed than advertised.

Taking to TikTok, the owner explained how her suspicions arose early on when her pup was unusually sleepy and frail.

The owner said: "My family surprised me with a dog for my birthday last year. It was supposed to be a male, and we were told it was eight weeks old.

"But I thought it was weird that she seemed super frail and slept all day."

After the breeder promised she would send over vaccination records to check up on the young pup, she disappeared and the new pet owner lost contact with them.

The pet owner said: "We soon found out Porter was a girl! And most likely only four to five weeks old, and had not been vaccinated.

"I was so mad, you have no idea! But we got lucky because she's healthy."

Shocking photos reveal the sick breeder went as far as dying the dog's fur to make it more believable as a brown Maltipoo.

Weeks later, pup Porter's fur began changing colour as well to the shock of her already shaken up owners.

Poking out beneath Porter's light brown fur was a plethora of white hair – and soon turned completely white.

Despite the unexpected change in her puppy's breed, colour and sex, Porter is still loved by her owner and was even given a £80 steak for her second birthday.

Another couple shared how they paid £1,800 for what they thought was a purebred Pomeranian, but were scammed.

They only started to suspect their new pet wasn't a purebred Pom when Bear began to display some unusual features.

As a puppy, the furball seemed to display all of the hallmarks of the highly sought-after breed.

The adorable dog seems to sport a longer muzzle than most, while his ears are constantly erect rather than hidden among his fur.

The owners shared a TikTok video documenting his development – which gave the illusion that little Bear had changed breeds.

One woman was also left stunned when she realised her purebred £1.7k goldendoodle puppy was not what its papers claimed it was.

And another pet lover told how she bought a £3k purebred French bulldog puppy – which grew up to look shockingly different too.
