In the last month, searches for 'sneakers' are up 927%, and the legendary Air Jordan 1 Mid Valentine’s Day and New Balance x Aimé Leon Dore 993 are top of the list.
Whenever a big trainer launched dropped in 2021, second hand sales spiked, with1847% more searches for Air Jordan 11 Cool Grey, and 962% searches for Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 v2 MX Rock.
And if you're selling your pairs ahead of the NBA All-Star Weekend (February 20), eBay is even lowering seller fees to just 2.5% on all sneakers, regardless of their selling price – but you've only got until February 21.
eBay UK’s very own sneakerhead, Wahaaj Shabbir, Sneaker Category Manager has said: “Sneakerheads come to eBay to buy and sell exclusive sneaker drops that are hard to get your hands on.
"We see it every time – when a sneaker legend like Michael Jordan is front of mind, and it’s the run up to NBA All Star weekend, we see mass market movement.
"With so much heat setting to land in February, now is the time to list your sneakers with so many buyers looking on site and then you can set your sights on your next dunks, ”.
