There, they met with Scouts from across the area and talked about the #PromiseToThePlanet campaign. For the appearance, Kate Middleton wore a black turtleneck sweater paired with matching jeans, hiking boots, and a quilted army-green vest. Kate paired the look with a traditional Scouts scarf loosely tied around her neck.
She also wore her hair styled in her signature glossy waves.
Analysis of Google search data revealed online searches for ‘quilted vest’ in the UK skyrocketed over 1300 percent on November 2.
This was the day after Kate wore a quilted vest to the Scouts #PromiseToThePlanet campaign in Dennistoun, Glasgow during COP26.
A new finding by creative resource Design Bundles revealed exclusively to Express.co.uk that online interest in quilted vests exploded to 14 times the average volume in one day.
This was an unprecedented spike in interest for quilted vests, according to Google search data analysis.
The research also showed online searches for ‘coat dress’ exploded by 669 percent.
This was eight times the average volume for these searches.
These findings came after the Duchess of Cambridge appeared in a blue coat dress with long sleeves at the reception for members of the Sustainable Market Initiative on the evening of November 2.
Searches for ‘blue gown’ also saw a rise of 376 percent, nearly five times the average volume.
Kate paired her quilted Ganni jacket vest for the Scouts campaign in Glasgow with trendy black jeans, combat boots and an elegant roll-top sweater.
The Duchess’s full outfit for the Sustainable Market Initiative reception was a cobalt blue coat dress by Eponine, accented with black buttons and three-quarter length sleeves.
She accessorised this with navy heels and her Poppy Code Breakers Brooch.
This was a touching tribute to the upcoming Remembrance Sunday and those fallen in the past World Wars.
A spokesperson for Design Bundles commented on the findings exclusively for Express.co.uk.
They said: “Kate Middleton is the ultimate style icon, combining classic elegance with the powerful ability to champion the causes she cares about and communicate meaning with every outfit she wears.
“The Duchess of Cambridge’s ensemble for the Scouts #promise to the planet event was winningly casual – she cut a clean and graceful figure while refusing to divert attention from the important cause of action on climate change she and Prince William were supporting.
“Her vest was crafted from a special fabric made with 100 percent recycled polyester, and her combat boots have been worn several times before, a combination allowed her to speak to the overwhelming importance of protecting the planet.
“Kate Middleton cut a particularly bold and striking figure at the COP 26 Sustainable Market Initiative reception. Her cobalt blue coat dress, accessorised with a poppy ahead of Remembrance Sunday, featured defined shoulder pads – an unusual choice for the Duchess, who usually chooses softer shoulders for her outfits.
“The crisp outline of her dress, combined with its bold, gleaming blue allowed her to appear both understated and powerful, possibly a nod to the greater duties she and Prince William will take on as part of the ‘fab four’ comprised of herself, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, as the Queen starts to rest a little more from a lifetime of service.”
The COP26 Summit aims to reverse climate change, and world leaders such as Boris Johnson and Joe Biden were all in attendance.
