ALL homeowners will know that renovating any part of a property can cost a small fortune.

But one woman named Chrystal, who posts under the handle @chrystalspalace, took to TikTok to prove that doesn't always have to be the case.

Instead, she revealed how she gave her dated-looking stairs a very modern makeover for £50 – using peel and stick wallpaper and carpet she recycled from a spare bedroom.

In the clip, she begins: "When you decided to put peel and stick wallpaper on your staircase…"

Posting a second video, Chrystal continues: "So remember my last video where I said I was saving the carpet in the second bedroom for my stairs…I'm about to show you what I did with my stairs."

She then goes on to share a before photo of what the tired-looking stairs looked like before the transformation.

"This is the before and there's nothing really wrong with the stairs, it's just not to my taste or liking," she says.

After stripping the stairs back, she continues: "I then grabbed two of these adhesive vinyl packs from B&Q and measured the riser of the stairs.
