FROM soap brows to slugging, TikTok has become the home for many trends – and recently, faux freckles has become one of them.

Amongst those keen to achieve that summary, sun-kissed look wasone social media user, Rach (@rachfromstrayya) – however, things didn't quite go as anticipated.

According to the viral video – it's racked up a staggering 1.8 million views in just three days – Rach had come across a hack posted by the TikTok-famous beauty guru, Sydney Purl.

The simple trick, Sydney explained, was spraying a tiny amount of L'Oreal Magic Retouch grey hair concealer (she used the product in the shade Medium Iced Brown) on the areas you want the faux freckles to be.

One spray later and the social media star was covered in realistic-looking freckles.

''Whoever thought this up is an actual genius,'' she said.

But unfortunately for Rach, things didn't go so well, as she took it to TikTok to share the major beauty blunder.

Unlike Sydney, Rach was left with anything but freckles – the spray gave her something more akin to a racoon mask and a dark brown mess.
