WHEN you're in the middle of renovating your home, getting the windows replaced isn't exactly the most glamorous task – and it can easily cost a small fortune.

Well rather than splashing out £8,000 to have them professionally done, one savvy DIY fan has revealed how she transformed her dated windows on a budget using old nail polish and a £2 glass scraper.

Posting on her TikTok account, Klaire explained how she saved £7,500 by redecorating her windows herself.

In the viral clip, the DIY fan documented every stage of the process – which initially involved peeling off the dated leading.

After her and her partner had completed this task, Klaire then got stuck in with a £2 glass scraper to remove any lingering glue.

Next, they used the scraper to remove the top layer of wooden-effect vinyl from the window sill.

Determined to keep costs low, she then used some old nail polish to get rid of the glue underneath.

Prepping the window frame for a fresh coat of paint, Klaire then cleaned them with sugar soap and quick sanding.

The couple used two tins of Frenchic's 'City Slicker' paint to give the outside of their home a modern update.

Finishing off, they then added some frosted stickers to their living room window so passers-by could no longer see straight into the house.

Sharing amazing before-and-after photos, Klaire wrote: "How we easily & cheaply revamped our windows & saved £1000s."

The video has racked up over 31,000 "likes" on TikTok and other users were blown away by the transformation.

One wrote: "Well done, they look amazing!"

"Nice job," another added: "They are great!"

"It's amazing what a bit of vision can achieve," a third gushed.
