Perennial All-Star Carmelo Anthony now finds himself in the midst of his 18th season in the Association, and as he chases his first ring with Damian Lillard and the rest of the Portland Trailblazers crew, he’s going to have some fresh kicks to lace up. Recently revealed by the Jumpman team is the Air Jordan 35 “Carmerlot” PE — a brand new colorway manufactured for the scoring machine that is symbolic of his affinity for fine wine.

Given the nature of vino and its association with formal and sophisticated settings, Jordan Brand crafts this court-ready iteration with that of opulent allure. To best translate the aesthetic of the dark grape blend, the kicks are submerged entirely with red tones. The base layer, mid-foot cables, and oversized Eclipse plates are given a brighter berry hue, while the tongues, rich suede overlays and collars deviate in a shade darker. Slivers of silver pop out through the first set of lace loops, as well as the trim atop the heel tabs and tongue tabs.

For a literal nod to the alcoholic drink’s ingredients, these Air Jordan 35s embroider a grape symbol towards the heel regions of the lateral panel.

Melo was spotted rocking these on-court on New Year’s Day where he surpassed Tim Duncan for the 14th spot on the NBA‘s All-Time Scoring list.
