With the ongoing pandemic affecting large gatherings, it has put a halt to events worldwide, including those regarded as “rites of passage,” like the high school prom. Claudia Li’s fall collection reflects on her experiences of “homecoming” from her high school days in Auckland, New Zealand.

Drawing references from 1980s prom and high school nostalgia, Li incorporated her signature silhouettes for fall, including an oversize neck bow on a bright pink prom dress and slouchy shoulder jumpsuits, infusing them with dramatic colors, glitter and embellishment for a dreamy and surreal effect. New elements this season include thoughtful embellishments, checkered prints on blouses with puffed sleeves, and corduroy seen on tailored blazers paired with an asymmetrical mini skirt in the same fabric.

Li also collaborated with Fruta jewelry to launch limited-edition earrings and headbands, both of which are available now for pre-order at claudia-li.com in four colorways.
