A SAVVY bargain hunter has revealed how he picked up a £250 cabinet without paying a penny – and it's actually a pretty easy tip.

The eagle-eyed shopper popped into his local Homebase store where he spotted the stunning white shelving unit before sharing his incredible find online.

He revealed that the cabinet was outside the store, presumably getting thrown out, so he asked the security guard if it was free, and to his surprise, it was.

"Always worth keeping an eye outside your local Homebase in case they’re getting rid of anything interesting," he wrote in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

"Usually it’s just old bits of wood and soil but today I spotted this wee beauty."

And added: "Verrry little damage and fits in perfectly with dining room and also 100% free so today can most definitely go down as a good day."

Naturally, other bargain hunters were incredibly impressed and wondered how he got so lucky as the furniture looks to be in great condition.

He revealed in the comments: "It was just sitting outside so I’ve asked security if it’s free and he was like yeah take it if you want lol"

Impressed, one person wrote: "Oh wow that’s amazing! Well done on your bargain."

"Bargain! It is absolutely stunning," said another.

Many others raved about the stunning cabinet agreeing it looks "perfect in that room."

Some bargain-hunters said it's worth checking out other stores like Ikea and B&Q as they sometimes do the same thing.

One revealed: "Most ikeas usually have a shed on the car park too (like a bus shelter) that they put the ex display items in once taken apart. Sometimes it's just fire wood but also find shelving units and tables etc."

It's definitely worth keeping your eyes peeled the next time you head in-store as you might be able to score something similar yourself.
