Zendaya has made Emmys history as the youngest producing nominee as an executive producer on Euphoria, which received an Outstanding Drama nod. Additionally, the 25-year-old actress has become the youngest two-time acting nominee for her role on the HBO drama series.
Zendaya, who received four total nominations for this year’s Emmys, made history last year as the youngest lead actress drama winner (Euphoria) and the second-ever Black woman to win the award, after Viola Davis took home the trophy in 2015 for How to Get Away With Murder.
Additionally, with two entries in the original music and lyrics category (Euphoria’s “Elliot’s Song” and “I’m Tired”), the top-shelf polymath is now the first Black woman to receive nominations for both acting and songwriting in the same year.
Euphoria, which is created, written, directed and executive produced by Sam Levinson, received a total of 16 Emmy nominations this year. Aside from Zendaya, the series stars Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Dominic Fike, Storm Reid, Austin Abrams and more.
The 74th Emmy Awards will take place on Monday, September 12 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC.
