The much-anticipated return of physical shows to Milan saw the Italian city revert back to the hustle and bustle of pre-COVID fashion week.

Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2022 was packed with events including Boss‘ afternoon of fashion and baseball at the Kennedy Sport Center to the launch of Gucci Vault, a digital concept store that offers over 100 years of the house’s vintage pieces all curated by Alessandro Michele. Other notable events include this fashion week’s most talked-about collaboration which saw Donatella Versace and Silvia Venturini Fendi swap roles to merge Fendi x Versace for a FENDACE collaboration. Kim Jones joined Venturini Fendi to design VERSACE BY FENDI and vice versa, FENDI BY VERSACE by Donatella.

As Milan Fashion Week picked up from the pre-pandemic ambiance, showgoers were spotted mirroring the energy of the streets with their unmissable patterns and vibrant colors. This season’s street style was informed by casual-leaning silhouettes and monochromatic pairings. Menswear was partial to relaxed tailoring in slouchy, oversized coats.

Audacious patterns including bold tiger print pants and Louis Vuitton’s emblematic pattern stood out as a part of a broad range of diverse stylings. Both men and women alike were seen sporting Bottega Veneta-inspired emerald green ensembles either in statement accessories or apparel. The chillier season saw the beginning of layering including sharp outerwear paired with eye-catching comfort-focused sweaters. Loafers appeared to be making a comeback to the streets of Milan, a classic ode to Italian leather craftsmanship.
