For Toogood‘s first foray into homeware, the London-based design studio is releasing a selection of dining and decorative ceramics as well as a collection of woven throw blankets. The design studio, founded by Faye Toogood, is known for its wide-ranging disciplinary focus and works across fashion, furniture and interiors.

The ceramics collection is titled “Dough,” inspired in name and form by the common motions of kneading in both pottery and baking: “the soft volumes of rising dough and hand-shaped leavened pastries,” as Toogood explains in a press release. The organic shapes of pieces also harken to the large-scale abstract sculptures Faye Toogood created for a 2016 installation celebrating COMME des GARÇON’s “BLACK PEPPER” fragrance.

The six pieces include a mug, pitcher, wide bowl, platter, vase and centerpiece, each of which was hand-shaped in Toogood’s studio before being cast in stoneware. The dining items will be available in cream and charcoal matte glazes, while the decorative vase and centerpiece will treated with a reactive glaze with matte and glossy elements.

The “Plough” range of throws, available in cream and charcoal, are crafted from sustainable merino wool and feature minimalist geometric patterns.

The Toogood homeware collections will release this summer at Toogood’s web store and select retailers. You may also opt to sign up for the email list on the site to be notified upon its release.
