Skittles is bringing back its lime flavored candy after almost a decade.

The sweets company announced that the Five Fruity Flavors staple — which Skittles launched in 1979 — is making a permanent comeback in October alongside the newest Skittles Original lineup that’s also comprised of orange, lemon, grape and strawberry. “It’s no secret that Lime has been a hot topic for SKITTLES fans since we replaced them with Green Apple back in 2013. Green Apple has had a good run, but the fans have spoken and it’s time for Lime to return to the rainbow,” Fernando Rodrigues, Mars Wrigley Senior Brand Manager said in a statement. “What better way to bring better moments to our loyal fans, than with the return of the most asked about flavor? The joy of Lime can’t be denied anymore. It is back. This time for good.”

Ever since switching out lime for green apple, Skittles has only brought back the original flavor for a series of limited runs, including an all-lime pack launched earlier this May.

The Skittles Original lineup is set to hit shelves starting October and will receive a nationwide roll-out across 2021.
